Vultures line the Lake Mendocino shoreline Saturday dining on dead carp washed ashore during the past week. Swimming is currently prohibited at the 1,900-acre lake which was formed by the construction of Coyote Valley Dam in 1959 to provide flood control, water conservation, hydroelectric power and recreation.
