Hanson Aggregates has applied to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, San Francisco District, for a Department of the Army Permit to conduct sand mining operations of up to 50,000 cubic yards annually over the next 10 years within a 367- acre area of submerged lands known as Middle Ground Island Sand Shoals in Suisun Bay leased from the Grossi Family.
