The Kiewit Infrastructure West Company has applied to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers San Francisco District for a 10-year Department of the Army Permit to carry out maintenance dredging of accumulated sediment, with subsequent aquatic and upland disposal as appropriate, at the Kiewit Infrastructure West Company Vallejo equipment yard vessel and barge berthing area, located at 96 Solano Avenue on the eastern shoreline of Mare Island Strait in the City of Vallejo, Solano County, California.
The purpose of the proposed maintenance dredging is to return the vessel and barge berthing area adjacent to the Kiewit Vallejo equipment yard bulkhead to the originally permitted design depth to allow safe navigational depths for vessels and barges.
