The Marin Yacht Club (MYC) has applied to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, San Francisco District, for a 10-year Department of the Army Permit to carry out maintenance dredging of accumulated sediment, with subsequent aquatic and upland disposal, as appropriate, at the MYC boat basin located on the northern shoreline of the San Rafael Canal in San Rafael, Marin County, California. The purpose of the proposed maintenance dredging is to return the MYC boat basin’s fairways, berthing areas, and entrance channel totaling approximately 7 acres, to the originally permitted design depth to allow safe navigational depths for recreational boats.
