The City of Brisbane has applied to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, San Francisco District, for a 10-year Department of the Army Permit to perform maintenance dredging in the Brisbane Marina, including its entrance channel, and then dispose of the dredged material either at the Alcatraz Disposal Site (SF-11) or the San Francisco Deep Ocean Disposal Site (SF-DODS). The purpose of the proposed dredging is to return the Marina to its originally permitted depth to allow safe navigational depths for recreational boats.
