Vulcan Materials has applied to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, San Francisco District, for a Department of the Army Permit to impact 0.02 acre of wetland and 3,117 lineal feet of nonwetland waters of the U.S. as part of a quarry expansion and associated habitat restoration, located east of the City of Half Moon Bay in San Mateo County, California. The permit application also requests after-the-fact authorization for unpermitted discharge into an additional 0.03 acre of wetland by the prior quarry operator.
