PROJECT LOCATION AND Description
This project is located in southern Santa Clara County, California, near the communities of Morgan Hill, San Martin, and Gilroy. The project consists primarily of channel improvements and a diversion channel to provide a 100-year flood protection to urban areas and 10-year protection to agricultural areas.

ISSUES AND OTHER INFORMATION
- The Santa Clara Valley Water District is the NFS.
- This project did not receive funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA), Title IV, Pub. L. No. 111-5, 123 Stat. 115, Feb. 17, 2009.
- Section 3022 of the WRDA 2007 directed the Corps to complete the project, which was originally authorized for Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) construction, without consideration of 902 limits or positive net benefits, and allowed for the NFS to provide its financial obligations only in the form of Land, Easements, Rights-Of-Way, Relocation, and Disposal Areas (LERRD).
- SPN received notification in August 2014 to negotiate a Contributed Funds agreement to complete the LRR.
- The NFS has approved the Contributed Funds agreement.
- Based on NFS approval the Contributed Funds agreement will be submitted for Approval to the MSC.
