Major Peter Linscheid is the deputy commander of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, San Francisco District in San Francisco, California. The district delivers innovative navigation, flood risk management, ecosystem restoration, and government facility solutions across the region and in support of the nation.
Originally from Broomfield, Colorado, MAJ Linscheid was commissioned as an Engineer Officer through the Army ROTC program at the University of Colorado Boulder, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering. He also holds a Master of Business Administration from Eastern New Mexico University and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology.
Following completion of the Engineer Officer Basic Course, MAJ Linscheid was assigned to the 130th Engineer Brigade at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, where he served as a Platoon Leader, Operations Officer, and Communications Officer. He later joined the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Albuquerque District, overseeing construction and infrastructure projects at Cannon Air Force Base.
Following completion of the Engineer Captain’s Career Course and his graduate studies, he was assigned to Eighth Army in Pyeongtaek, South Korea, where he served as a Real Estate Officer and later as a Company Commander. He subsequently served as an Observer-Coach-Trainer at the National Training Center, Fort Irwin, California, and later as an instructor at the Captain’s Career Course – U.S. Army Engineer School, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
Most recently, MAJ Linscheid served as the Central America Officer in Charge at the U.S. Embassy in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, representing the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in regional engineering initiatives.
A few of his personal awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, and the Overseas Service Ribbon. MAJ Linscheid is a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of New Mexico and a certified Project Management Professional.
