SAN FRANCISCO - (Sept. 24, 2014) - U.S. Army Corps of Engineers San Francisco District Deputy Commander Maj. (P) Adam J. Czekanski is pictured with his wife, Wendi, daughter Annabelle and son Nicholas today after receiving the Soldier's Medal for his actions of valor and heroism earlier this year when he jumped onto the tracks as a commuter train was approaching to save a fellow rider who had fallen due to an apparent seizure. Czekanski credited his years of military training as he quickly assessed the situation and jumped into action to save a stranger while placing himself in imminent danger.
