Last week's 257-acre Hopkins Fire burned to the western shore of Lake Mendocino and caused significant damage to the Pomo Day-Use Area off Marina Drive. On Friday, Sept. 17, San Francisco District Commander Lt. Col. Kevin Arnett travelled to Lake Mendocino to inspect the damage to the recreational area and to get a status report from Lake Mendocino Park Manager Poppy Lozoff.
