PROJECT LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION
Larkspur Landing is the main Golden Gate Ferry terminal in Larkspur, Marin County, California. This project consists of maintenance dredging of the main navigation channel into the landing to a depth of -13 feet Mean Lower Low Water (MLLW) for a length of 13,560 feet and a width of 232 feet and -15 feet MLLW in the Turning Basin at the channel terminal.

FY 19 AND FY 20 ACCOMPLISHMENTS
- A letter report (per WRDA 07) to determine whether maintenance of the project is feasible would be initiated upon receiving Implementation Guidance received on Section 3021 of the Act and upon appropriations. At this time a date for completion of implementation guidance is not known.
- If feasibility is determined, and the letter report is approved accomplish the following:
- Conduct a condition survey of the channel and initiate environmental sampling and testing and preliminary engineering and design for maintenance dredging.
- Complete environmental coordination for maintenance dredging.
- Execute overdue maintenance dredging in the Main Channel and Turning Basin.
ISSUES AND OTHER INFORMATION
- The Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District, which provides ferry transit service between Marin County and San Francisco, is the Non-Federal Sponsor (NFS).
- The Corps of Engineers assumed temporary responsibility for maintenance of this project in 2001, subject to provisions contained in both the WRDA 1986 and the WRDA 1999, which authorized the Secretary of the Army to maintain the Larkspur Ferry Channel as a small navigation project (Section 107 of the River and Harbor Act of 1960) with total federal expenditures administratively limited to $4,500,000. Dredging of the Channel and Turning Basin was completed to project depths in August 2003 and, since the total Federal expenditure limit had been reached, the Operation and Maintenance (O&M) of the Larkspur Ferry Channel reverted back to the responsibility of the NFS in 2004.
- Section 3021 of WRDA 2007 directed the Secretary to determine whether maintenance of the project is feasible.
