CONTINUING AUTHORITY PROGRAM, SECTION 204
PROJECT LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION
The proposed project would address the loss of sand and beach fronting critically eroding areas along Beach Boulevard in the central portion of the City of Pacifica. The area experiences erosion rates of more than 2.5 feet annually, that threaten roads, critical wastewater and stormwater facilities, a beach promenade, the Pacifica Municipal Pier. Directly adjacent to the study area is Laguna Salada, a large brackish lagoon, host to endangered California red-legged frogs and San Francisco garter snakes. Potential sand provided from the 204 Program would complement other measures under consideration to abate erosion in the area.
