FLOODPLAIN MANAGEMENT SERVICES
PROJECT LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION
USACE will conduct technical workshops with the NFS and Agency partners to evaluate and advance the implementation of EWN FRM solutions in the USACE, San Francisco District (SPN) Area of Responsibility including Santa Clara County. The technical guidance including a Shared Vision Statement, aims to help the Nonfederal sponsor and others in the region overcome technical barriers to implementing EWN FRM solutions. Through new and shared knowledge, understanding, and relationships built during the two workshops, this project also enables overcoming a significant barrier to climate change and environmental sustainability in the AOR's riverine and coastal regions. Consequently, workshop outcomes and visioning will benefit USACE and other flood control agencies by reducing the costs, risk, and uncertainty associated with planning and constructing EWN projects through ongoing and future flood and climate change feasibility studies.
