INVESTIGATIONS
PROJECT LOCATION AND Description
The study area is located approximately 28 miles southeast of San Francisco within the City of Fremont, California. The watershed, which comprises a drainage area of approximately 25 square miles, drains into San Francisco Bay. This study will evaluate potential flood-damage-reduction alternatives in a highly developed area.

FY 14 accomplishments:
- No work is expected to be carried out in FY 14.
- The prospective sponsor is not willing to sign a Federal Cost Share Agreement (FCSA) at this time.
Fy 15 accomplishments (based on the availability of funds)
- No work is planned. Study has been reclassified as inactive in May 2010.
- The non-Federal sponsor, Alameda County Flood Control and Water Conservation District, wants to fund and complete Estudillo Canal first.
ISSUES AND OTHER INFORMATION
- The Alameda County Flood Control Agency (ACFCA) and Water Conservation District is the NFS.
- This project did not receive funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA), Title IV, Pub. L. No. 111-5, 123 Stat. 115, Feb. 17, 2009.
- The Corps continues to monitor the inclination of the NFS towards execution of the FCSA; however the NFS appears to want to withhold engaging the Corps in a Feasibility Study (FS) until the results of a similar FS (Estudillo Canal), for which they are the NFS, is known. The Estudillo Canal study has hydrology and urban flooding problems that are representative of those found in the Laguna Creek watershed. The NFS wants to fund and complete the Estudillo Canal first.
- SPD inactivated this study in May 2010.
