SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO BAY PHASE II INVESTIGATIONS 

PROJECT LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION

The study area for Phase II was bounded by San Francisquito Creek in Palo Alto and Permanente Creek/Mountain View Slough in Mountain View, in Santa Clara County, California. The purpose of the study was to examine coastal flooding problems and solutions, environmental restoration opportunities, and recreation opportunities.

  • Concluded study in April 2024, following determination that there is no federal interest at this time for the alternatives evaluated.

ISSUES AND OTHER INFORMATION

  • The Non-Federal Sponsors are the Santa Clara Valley Water District (Valley Water) and the California State Coastal Conservancy.
  • The study authorization remains active and a new study could potentially be conducted in the future.
