San Francisco National Cemetery, Presidio of San Francisco, San Francisco, CA. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) National Cemetery Administration (NCA) has provided the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) San Francisco District (SPN) with a scope of work to complete planning, investigations, design, acquisition support, post award construction support, and required close-out services for the project. Construction activities will include two separate contracts:
- Lodge renovation
- Wall and rostrum repair - Site work includes repair and paint historic wrought iron fence and pilasters at perimeter. Some work on the pedestrian entrance area has been requested as well.

FY23 ACCOMPLISHMENTS
- Decision to separate the design into two packages so the lodge can be awarded first, an NCA priority.
- Completed separation and made progress on two design packages, one for lodge renovation and another for wall and rostrum repair.
FY24 ACCOMPLISHMENTS
- Coordination with NCA to obtain funding for lodge renovation, the NCA priority. NCA secured funding and funding expected within USACE by Q3FY24.
- Completion of review of 95% design for lodge.
- Market research completed for lodge.
- Modification of AE contract to account for tree in wall design.
ISSUES AND OTHER INFORMATION
- Funding to cover wall and rostrum construction is uncertain. Project will be taken to 100% design and will be ready to award when funding is available. **Total project cost is not realized yet as cost schedule has not been completed.
