WAVECREST ECOSYSTEM RESTORATION
CONTINUING AUTHORITY, SECTION 206
PROJECT LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION
The proposed study is located on approximately 150 acres at the north end of the Wavecrest open space in the City of Half Moon Bay, CA and 30 miles southwest from San Francisco CA. Historically, this land was largely seasonal wetland habitat but land conversion and the channelization of surface flows into a ditch have left only remnants of the historical wetlands in place. The project objectives would include restoring seasonal wetland habitat to improve the quality and quantity of habitat for species such as the California red-legged frog and a diverse population of raptors as well as reducing bluff erosion associate with the channelized stream.
