We encourage groups to combine a visit to Call of the Sea or SeaTrek with the Bay Model.
Reservations are recommended. Groups are staggered in 20 min increments. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact us immediately.
- Group leaders are required to check in at the front desk when they arrive.
- We require a minimum of one adult chaperone for every eight students for all school or camp groups. Chaperones should be briefed and prepared to participate with their group. If your group has more than 30 students, they will be divided into half and enter at 20 minute intervals.
- If programs are not available, staff may provide a 15 minute introduction to the Bay Model, including the operation of the model, the features of the bay(s), and the mission of the US Army Corps of Engineers.
- We recommend that teachers compose a “scavenger hunt” to direct students’ interest while they are here. Several examples are posted below. Best practice is to organize your scavenger hunt on the same path as the model’s exhibits. Students are welcome to explore all aspects of the model and the Marinship exhibit.
