USACE seeks public comment on Oakland Harbor Turning Basins new documents

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – In accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (42 U.S.C. § 4321 et seq.), as amended, the United States Army Corps of Engineers, San Francisco District has prepared a second draft integrated Feasibility Report/Environmental Assessment and draft Finding of No Significant Impact for the proposed Oakland Harbor Turning Basins Widening Navigation Study, California. This IFR/EA was prepared in collaboration with the Port of Oakland as the non-federal sponsor for the study. The second draft IFR/EA is a re-release of the original draft report issued for public review on Dec. 17, 2021.

The USACE is providing notice of the availability of this draft IFR/EA and draft FONSI for public review and comment pursuant to 33 C.F.R. § 230.11 (b) U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Procedures for Implementing NEPA, and they invite your review and feedback. The draft IFR/EA can be accessed by navigating your web browser to the website below and clicking on the “Oakland Harbor Turning Basins Widening – Revised Draft Integrated Feasibility Report and Environmental Assessment” title in the center of the page to open the report document. The associated appendices can be accessed by clicking on their respective titles listed immediately below the title of the main report on the following website:

The comment period will extend from April 26, 2023 – June 12, 2023.
