SAN FRANCISCO – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers San Francisco District is proposing to lease 24 acres of federal land to the Dry Creek Rancheria Band of Pomo Indians to develop a tribal and cultural use area. The proposed area would be located at Lake Sonoma.
The lease would allow the development of approximately five acres of land for a native village site, various cultural arbors, traditional structures, a food preparation area, parking areas, access road improvements and other infrastructure improvements. The facility would also be available for use by otherNative American tribes.
An Environmental Assessment (EA) and draft Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) have been prepared for the proposed lease and project development pursuant to and in accordance with theNational Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) of 1969 (42 USC § 4321 et seq.) as amended, the Council on Environmental Quality Regulations for Implementing NEPA (40 CFR Parts 1500-1508), and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Engineering Regulation 200-2-2.
