Under the Corps' Regulatory Program, a public notice is the primary method for advising all interested parties of a proposed activity for which a permit is sought. Public notices are also published to inform the public about new or proposed regulations, policies, guidance or permit procedures.

We are requesting public comments on many Public Notices (PNs) concurrently; please pay careful attention to the file number and the comments Due Date.

Email comments are preferred.  To submit comments in writing, send them to the attention of the Project Manager listed in the Public Notice title block.  All comments should reference the PN file number and be submitted by the Response Required Date on the PN.

The Public Notices are in pdf format. To read the files you may need to download and install Adobe Acrobat Reader or another comparable program

  • SPN-2013-00327 Anderson Dam Seismic Retrofit

    Expiration date: 9/9/2024

    Santa Clara Valley Water District, through its agent, H. T. Harvey & Associates has applied to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, San Francisco District, for a Department of the Army Permit to complete the Anderson Dam Seismic Retrofit Project, located in Santa Clara County, California. This Department of the Army permit application is being processed pursuant to the provisions of Section 404 of the Clean Water Act of 1972, as amended (33 U.S.C. § 1344 et seq.). The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) will serve as the lead federal agency with respect to compliance with federal laws. Valley Water submitted an Application for Surrender of Exemption to FERC on February 20, 2024 (https://elibrary.ferc.gov/eLibrary/filelist?accession_Number=20240220-5207). On April 23, 2024, USACE requested that FERC grant USACE cooperating agency status under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) for the Anderson Dam Seismic Retrofit Project.
