Public Notices


Under the Corps' Regulatory Program, a public notice is the primary method for advising all interested parties of a proposed activity for which a permit is sought. Public notices are also published to inform the public about new or proposed regulations, policies, guidance or permit procedures.

We are requesting public comments on many Public Notices (PNs) concurrently; please pay careful attention to the file number and the Comments Due Date.

To submit comments in writing, send them to the attention of the Project Manager listed in the Public Notice title block. If you wish to provide comments via email, the project manager's email address is also listed in the the Public Notice title block.

All comments should reference the PN file number and be submitted by the Response Required Date on the PN.

A hard copy of our Public Notices are available upon request. To be added to the Public Notice Mailing List, please submit your name and address, indicate which county(ies) you are interested in, and indicate if you would like to receive a hard copy of the PN or just be notified by e-mail (e-mail address needed). If you are on our mailing list and your contact information changes, please notify our Contact Representative and provide your new and old addresses. Hard copies or e-mails returned due to a non-functioning address will be deleted from our electronic mailing list system.

The Public Notices are listed in chronological order, with the most recent at the top. There is a link to the right of the current list to access PNs issued in prior years. Click on the file number to view a synopsis of the Public Notice you are interested in, or you can directly open the PN document in pdf format by clicking the link listed in the Attachments box for that file. In many cases, the project plans have been linked separately from the PN document to reduce download time. These files are in pdf format. SPN-2002-267760 Peyton Slough Remediation Project Shoreline Protection - 5/22/2017: Eco Services Operations Corporation has applied to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, San Francisco District, for a Department of the Army Permit to discharge fill material into jurisdictional waters of the United States associated with the construction of shoreline protection where ongoing wave erosion threatens to expose contaminated sediments that were buried as part of the Peyton Slough Remediation Project and to erode tidal salt marsh habitat, located on the southern shore of Carquinez Strait, in the City of Martinez, Contra Costa County, California.

SPN-2016-00401N Humboldt Bay Mariculture Pre-Permitting Project - 5/15/2017: The Humboldt Bay Harbor, Recreation and Conservation District has applied to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, San Francisco District, for a Department of the Army Permit to place up to eight 12-inch diameter concrete or metal pilings within one of three project areas to facilitate mooring for a total of 3.08 acres of shellfish and macroalgae aquaculture on three areas of submerged lands within Humboldt Bay, near the City of Eureka, Humboldt County, California. This infrastructure would be used for Humboldt Bay Harbor District leases to individuals or businesses to carry out aquaculture activities.
